Fridge and freezer delivery in London

Fridges and freezers need to be moved upright, handled gently and given a little time to settle before they are switched on — which is why a careful two-person man and van is the right way to deliver one. Our fridge delivery service collects fridges, freezers, fridge-freezers and large American-style units from shops, warehouses and private sellers and delivers them into your kitchen, carried upright and set down in place.

We deliver new appliances from retailers and second-hand ones from marketplace sellers, and our crew will carry a heavy fridge-freezer up or down stairs to a flat or basement kitchen where a courier would not. Everything is strapped and protected in transit and kept upright throughout, so your appliance is ready to plug in sooner. If you are replacing an old fridge or freezer, we can take the old one away and have it degassed and recycled correctly in the same visit.

We cover all of London and the surrounding areas, keep same-day and next-day slots open, and fully insure every delivery.

Fridge Freezer Delivery prices

Fridge and freezer delivery is priced by item. Appliances have one rule the price does not change: they travel upright.

Small item
from £55

One item two people can carry without a struggle.

Single large item
from £95

A sofa, fridge, wardrobe or bed, collected and delivered.

Two items
from £145

Both collected on the same run rather than two callouts.

Van load
from £195

Several items, or roughly a room's worth in one go.

A two-mover crew adds £45 and same-day adds £40. Everything is confirmed as a fixed price before we collect — we do not start a job and then revise the number.

How it works

1

Tell us the type

Undercounter, tall fridge-freezer, or American-style side-by-side. The last of those is a genuine two-person appliance.

2

Check the route

Doorway width and whether there are stairs. American fridges are often 90cm wide and will not pass a standard internal door.

3

Fixed price and slot

Confirmed before collection, with the right crew booked for the size of the unit.

4

Delivered upright and positioned

Kept vertical the whole way, brought to the kitchen, and packaging taken away if you want it gone.

Why a fridge has to stay upright

A fridge or freezer contains compressor oil, and laying it on its back or side lets that oil run into the cooling lines. Switch it on afterwards and the compressor is pumping oil where refrigerant should be. That is how a working appliance arrives dead, and it is entirely avoidable — so we carry them upright, strap them upright in the van, and do not tip them to get through a doorway.

The one exception is that if an appliance has been laid flat at any point, it should stand upright for several hours before being plugged in — many manufacturers say four, some say longer. We will tell you on the day if that applies to yours rather than letting you switch it on and find out.

  • Empty and defrost first. At least 24 hours ahead for a freezer. A part-defrosted unit leaks meltwater down your stairs and into the van.
  • Measure the doorway. American-style units are commonly 90-95cm wide against a 76cm internal door. This is the most common failed appliance delivery there is.
  • Tape the doors. Or tell us and we will. A door swinging open mid-carry is how hands and door frames get hurt.
  • Two movers for tall units. A full-height fridge-freezer is awkward rather than merely heavy, and it is top-weighted.
  • We do not plumb or wire. We deliver and position. Connecting a water line or a fitted appliance is an installer's job, not ours.
  • Old appliance removal. We can take the outgoing fridge. It carries a WEEE eco fee because the refrigerant gases have to be extracted by a licensed facility.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you keep the fridge upright? expand_more

Yes. We transport fridges and freezers upright throughout so the gas settles properly and the unit is ready to use sooner after delivery.

Can you take my old fridge away? expand_more

Yes. We remove old fridges and freezers and have them degassed and recycled correctly under WEEE rules. Disposal starts from £95.

Can you deliver a large American fridge-freezer upstairs? expand_more

Yes. Our two-person crew handles large and heavy units up and down stairs — just tell us the floor and any tight doorways when you book.

How long before I can switch it on? expand_more

We recommend letting a fridge or freezer stand for a few hours after delivery before switching on, especially if it was ever tilted — we keep them upright to minimise this.

How much does fridge delivery cost? expand_more

By item: from £55 for a small item, £95 for a single large item, £145 for two and £195 for a van load. Send a photo and both addresses for a fixed quote.

Can you swap my old fridge for the new one? expand_more

Yes. We can deliver and position your new fridge or freezer and take the old one away for degassing and recycling in the same visit — one booking, one price.

How long should I wait before switching the fridge on? expand_more

If it has stayed upright throughout, most manufacturers are happy with a couple of hours. If it has been laid down at any point, leave it standing for at least four hours, and check the manual — some ask for longer.

Can you take my old fridge away? expand_more

Yes. Fridges carry a WEEE eco fee because the refrigerant gas has to be recovered at a licensed facility rather than the unit simply being tipped. The fee depends on the size of the unit — ask and we will quote it with the delivery.

Do you connect the fridge up? expand_more

We deliver, carry it in and position it. We do not plumb in water lines or fit integrated appliances into units — that is an installer's job and doing it badly floods a kitchen.

Do I need to defrost the freezer first? expand_more

Yes, and give it a full 24 hours. A freezer that is still melting will drip through the whole journey, and the meltwater is not clean.
