Why evening moves are often the faster option
London traffic between four and seven is the single biggest variable in a daytime move, and on an hourly rate you are paying for it. Start at seven in the evening and the same route can take half the time. Loading bays are free, there is usually parking outside, and nobody else is using the service lift.
The trade-offs are real and worth naming. Light goes early in winter, so carrying in the dark needs care. Many buildings restrict moving hours or lift access after 6pm, and neighbours are less forgiving of a wardrobe on the stairs at 10pm than at 2pm.
