What a Brunel Student Move Actually Costs
A student move is two jobs that get quoted as one, and that is where people get caught out. There is the part that is going with you, and the part that is not going anywhere. We price them differently and do them on the same visit: moving is charged hourly, and getting rid is charged by the space it fills in the van. Booking both together is almost always cheaper than a mover and a clearance company turning up separately.

Hourly rates for the move itself
Moves and shuttles are hourly with a 2-hour minimum. Longer bookings and runs out of London are quoted as one fixed all-in price instead, so there is no meter running while we are on the motorway.

Mattresses carry a £33 eco disposal fee on top. That is not a markup: upholstered items have to go down a separate, more expensive disposal route by law. It is published on our pricing page before you book rather than added at the end.

Yes, and it is the part most students underestimate. A year in halls generates a surprising amount that is not going home: bedding, a desk chair, a mini-fridge, kitchen bits, a mattress topper. That goes as a rubbish collection from £95, loaded into the same van on the same booking as the things you are keeping.
When should I book a Brunel move-out?

Do you charge extra to take a mattress?

Can you do a Sunday or an evening student move?
Yes. We run 7am to 10pm, seven days a week including bank holidays. Evenings and weekends matter for student moves because hall check-outs and tenancy handovers rarely land on a convenient weekday.
Can you park at Brunel halls and around Cowley to load?
Usually, yes. Loading is generally permitted while we are actively carrying, and we plan campus and town-centre jobs around the controlled parking zones and the short-stay bays. Tell us the hall, the block and the floor when you book — a stairs-only carry is a two-person job, and we would rather arrive with the right crew than discover it on the day.
Do you move students from Uxbridge to another city?
Yes. Local moves are hourly, but a long-distance run home is quoted as one fixed all-in price rather than by the hour. Tell us both addresses and roughly what is coming, and you will have the figure before you book.
